Directions to HEADRUSH at Blue Mound State Park, Blue Mounds, WI
Blue Mound State Park, in beautiful southwestern Wisconsin, is on the tallest hill in southern Wisconsin, and about a 25-mile drive from Madison. The top of the hill is 1,716 feet above sea level, the seventh-highest spot in Wisconsin. The 1,153-acre park is a popular place for swimming, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing and mountain biking (both double and single track) and finding peace and solitude.
Take Interstate 94 East. Interstate 90 will hook up with you about an hour or so north of Madison. On the outskirts of Madison Interstate 94 will go to Milwaukee, stay on Interstate 90 going towards Chicago. Take Hwy. 12/18 West. Follow the basic directions below. The drive is about 4.5 hours.

Take Hwy, 41 South. In Oshkosh, just past the outlet mall, take Hwy. 26 West. Right outside of Waupun, take Hwy. 151 South. Right on the outskirts of Madison, you will hit Interstate 90/94, go East on Interstate 90/94 towards Milwaukee/Chicago, do not go to Wisconsin Dells. Interstate 94 will go to Milwaukee, stay on Interstate 90, towards Chicago. Take Hwy. 12/18 West. Follow the basic directions below. The drive is about 3 hours.
Blue Mound State Park is just north of the Village of Blue Mounds, right next to Mount Horeb, about 25 miles west of Madison via US Highway 18/151. Go west on Hwy. 12/18--this is also called "the beltline". Get off at the Verona Road/Midvale Road exit, go left. You will be going south/west on Hwy. 18/151. Stay on Hwy. 18/151 south/west for about 20 miles. From Highway 18/151, go north (right) on County Highway F and then turn left on County Highway ID into Blue Mounds. Go west on Highway ID for about one half mile, to Mounds Road. Turn right (north) and follow Mounds Road north through town. (Mounds Road will become Mounds Park Road once you leave the village.) The park entrance is one mile north of the intersection of Highway ID and Mounds Road. Drive up the hill into the park, you will then see signs for HEADRUSH.
