This year (2011) our HEADRUSH event is free and no registration is required. And you still get into Blue Mound State Park for free too!.
Hang out with friends, take a nature hike, celebrate life, ride your mountain bike, check out the health fair, listen to some live music, participate in a yoga class, play Frisbee, wear a dedication sticker, meet others touched by Brain Tumors, be inspired, take part in the organized naturalist-led hike, meet new friends, learn, watch your children enjoy the kid activities, and tell your family and friends that you love them.
We will have HEADRUSH dedication stickers available for you to write down the name of a loved one(s) affected by some significant life issue. Then wear your sticker with pride because you are dedicating your day to them.
You bet! We will have one big area dedicated just to kids. Lots of art activities and tons of crafts. And Tami from Funny Faces, the infamous balloon sculpting genius, will also be there!
UW Carbone Cancer Center, UW Integrated Medicine, a nutritionist, an acupuncturist, a massage therapist, a cranio-sacrel therapist, Hospicecare Inc, a chiropractor, an energy therapist, a Shaklee representative, and many more alternative and western therapy representatives.
Bring your raincoat and rubber boots! Rain or shine, HEADRUSH will happen.
We will be at the very top of the mound, right in the main area of the park. We'll have the large shelter, the bathrooms are nearby, and the two towers for viewing the rolling hills of Southern Wisconsin are only a short walk away.
We have a dedicated naturalist giving nature hikes both in the morning and in the afternoon (11 and 1). Also, please remember that the park and all of its trails are open for hiking throughout the whole day.
New this year! At noon a group will go out and ride the mountain bike trails for about 20ish minutes in memory of Chris. Itís a family-friendly ride!
All the classes (at 10:30 and 11) are gently instructed and open to ALL who wish to participate. Only requirement is to take off your shoes and socks, and relax. Namaste.
