HEADRUSH is a grassroots, solely volunteer-run, Madison-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to significantly improve the future of Brain Tumor research, treatment, and survivorship. HEADRUSH was originally created in 2004 by Chris and Brandi Funk. They wanted to give-back to their community and create brain tumor awareness, while also play outside with their friends and family. HEADRUSH proceeds directly benefit the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center in the form of a Brain Tumor Research Professorship Award. HEADRUSH holds an event at Blue Mound State Park, just 30 minutes Southwest of Madison, that increases awareness of Brain Tumors and their impact, while enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
